MATTEI, BISCOTTIFICIO

A historical company based in Prato, founded by Antonio Mattei in 1858 who created the Biscotti di Prato, better know as “Cantuccini.” These delicious patisserie products earned their success thank to a simple recipe – flour, sugar, fresh eggs, almonds and pine nuts. In 1908 the propriety of Biscottificio Mattei moved into the the hands of Ernesto Pandolfini who carried on the foundations laid by Antonio Mattei, maintaining a steady passion and consistency to create genuine products. 

Today the company is lead by the third generation of the Pandolfini Family - Marcella, Elisabetta, Letizia and their bother Francesco - who take on the demanding challenge of transporting the 160 year old company into the third century
