Tenuta Tascante

From a landscape of ash and lava, rich with history and personality, Tasca has embraced – since the birth of the project in 2007 – the necessary energy to grow their vineyards on the impressionable Mount Etna. Nerello Mascalese, Carricante, and Nerello Capuccio are planted between 4 contrada: Sciaranova, Piano Dario, Marchesa, and Grasà, where old vines and young are interspersed among volcanic rock and hand-laid terraces. Tenuta Tascante is a place in which the force of natural elements and the ‘know-how’ of local farmers encounter agricultural solutions adapted to a territory in which every chestnut tree and scraggly vine has its own story. Today, at the Contrada Marchesa winery in Passopisciaro, Tasca vinifies their Etna DOC wines by contrada, in the old palmento wine press.
